Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf and take an insect view of its plain.

Enhance the health of green roof plants.

This twelve-green-roof installation designed and installed by Architek has a combined total size of close to an acre. Like any blossoming green roof, this space provides refuge and food for birds and insects, slows or reduces stormwater runoff, decreases energy costs, and many other benefits.

The use of biodiverse liquid amendments such as compost extract and tea goes beyond the agriculture realm. Increasing the photosynthetic potential of urban landscapes via biological interactions within the rhizosphere is a domain worthy of attention. Envision the profound impact on the abundance of birds, bees, and other pollinators gracing this expansive green space!

Ongoing. Since this is a brand new installation (~1 year old), the Architek team continues to apply liquid biological treatments produced by RootShoot to maintain plant vigour until they are fully established.

  • ~ 1 ac.

  • Distributing the treatments presented challenging logistics, given that the roofs were divided into twelve sections. We had to navigate brand-new carpets, pristine hallways, and sparkling elevators while handling substantial quantities of chunky, brown liquid.

  • Like the Vancouver House project, the plants absorbed the treatments without issues. They flourished and transformed the roofs into breathtaking sky-high meadows, showcasing the success of the treatments in promoting vibrant and healthy plant growth.

  • None identified so far.

  • • Field observations

    • Initial testing of soil biological community via the Core Package Analysis.
