New Year. New Lens on Soil

If improving soil is on your list this year, here’s a simple place to start:

Download the Free Soil Quality Toolkit

It’s designed to help you assess your soil consistently and track changes over time using two documents:

  • Indicator Guide

  • Field Evaluation Sheet

What You Get

  • A simple 1-3 scoring rubric for key biological, physical and chemical indicators.

  • A field evaluation sheet to record scores and evidence consistently.

  • A repeatable framework to spot limiting factors and track progress season-to-season.

How To Use It

  1. Download and save the toolkit somewhere you can easily find again.

  2. Review the Indicator Guide before scoring so you stay consistent.

  3. Print the Field Evaluation sheet (or use it digitally).

  4. Choose one field (or a section of a field) you’re most interested in monitoring.

  5. Record scores + evidence, then repeat each season.

Tip: Repeating the evaluation on the same field around the same time each year makes your comparisons much more meaningful.

One Small Request

Please don’t share the file itself. 🙏🏼

I may occasionally update the toolkit, provide additional resources to support it and then notify subscribers. If someone you know would like it, share the signup page instead.
